For 1898 The Post, an iconic location in the heart of Ghent, we translated the hotel’s unique atmosphere and history into a new digital experience, with video, photography, and copywriting that make its character come to life.

Hidden within the historic post office building on the Graslei is 1898 The Post. Heritage, elegance, and experience converge beautifully within the walls of this boutique hotel. The hotel’s distinctive rooms, refined bar, intimate breakfast area, and unparalleled location in the heart of Ghent, exude character and history. With its authenticity and layered richness, 1898 The Post was a perfect match for Bureau Blanc.

We worked with Fabrice Parent to create an atmospheric film that portrays the hotel as it truly is, capturing a warm, authentic view into the soul of the building. We showed the different parts of this historic property, each with its own character, using separate chapters. This narrative structure became the foundation for the website architecture. We were responsible for the scenario, storyboard, styling, and art direction. Each image and detail contributes to the wider story.

Different chapters
reinforce the experience
and storytelling.

The website was built around the same chapters as the film, allowing the imagery and structure to flow seamlessly into one another. On the homepage, these chapters guide visitors through the hotel’s story and are perfectly aligned with the rhythm of the video.

We gave the “Story” page its own dynamic, featuring a narrative scroll experience which allows the content to gradually unfold. Everything was custom developed and we gave special attention to the mobile user experience, which is essential within the hospitality sector.

The photography aligns seamlessly with the character of the building. In post-production, we opted for a subtle, warm edit that respects and enhances the property’s historic identity.
